Toyo T1S - Opinions? Ratings?
Tried looking for them on Vulcantire, Tirewarehouse to check the ratings and stuff.
I had no luck so I thought I'd try here.
What do you guys think about these tires ? Are they good tires ? Better or worst then ES100/Ecsta SPT ? Thinking about 195/50/15.
Also, first time in these forum.

Hi guys
Hi, and welcome to the Wheel and Tire Forum!
The T1-S has been discontinued by Toyo, and replaced by the T1-R. IMHO, it's a decent street tire. I don't think it's hugely better than the SPT or ES100; if it's any better at all, it's not by much. However, it's more expensive than the SPT or ES100. (In 195/50-15, it's $70 vs ~$60.) IMHO if you're looking for value, you're better off with the SPT or ES100; if you're willing to pay more than those for better performance, you're better off getting the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, which is WAY better than the T1-R for not a whole lot more money (especially in the 195/50-15 size). For example, right now onlinetires.com has the T1-R in 195/50-15 for $70, whereas the Tire Rack has the F1 GS-D3 for $93, less the current Goodyear rebate of $40 on a set of four (expires soon, BTW), which means you get a MUCH better tire for only thirteen bucks more than the Toyo.
So bottom line, it's a decent tire, probably worth the money, but most people are better off with the SPT or ES100 (if they're concerned with value for their money) or else with the F1 GS-D3 (if they're willing to pay more for better performance).
Oh, and if you're interested in seeing a comparison test including the T1-R and the F1 GS-D3, click here.
