MAIN THREAD FOR THE MEET

Alright folks, here's the layout for the Journey, if you would like to participate/join in, please let me know by posting here. I'll keep a tab of how many people are showing at each checkpoint, so as not to lose anyone. Also, I'd like anyone who has any ideas on checkpoint locations, to PLEASE CHIME IN. I do not know the entire trip 100%, so it's not as if I know all the available park & rides, or decent places to pick up travelers.

Checkpoint #1: I-66 West - Manassas, VA Rest Area
- Arrival Time: 07:00 AM (EST) Friday, July 13th
- Departure Time: 07:45 AM (EST)

This should be a good area for all NoVa/MD/DC people to meet.

Checkpoint #2: I-81 South; Radford, VA Rest Area
- Arrival Time: 10:45 AM (EST)
- Departure Time: 11:30 AM (EST)

This is a good area for the rest of the Virginia people to meet up with us (Virginia Beach Area and the rest of VA)

Checkpoint #3: I-81 South - Morristown, TN Rest Area
- Arrival Time: 03:00 PM
- Departure Time: 03:45 PM

This is the only rest area I found near the Knoxville, TN area. This should be a good place to stop to let everyone else catch up. This will be the final checkpoint before getting to Nashville, TN. This rest area is right before we get on I-40 West.

PLEASE NOTE: I know that this looks like a little bit rough, but with this long of a journey, I think it's fairly accurate. I also know that not everyone will be able to pit stop at the same mileage, so feel free to drop off when necessary. I set it with 3 checkpoints for a reason. It gives a chance for those with more thirsty engines, a chance to catch breath and keep up. Once again, please throw ideas that are worth noting, at me. I'm up for suggestion.

Looks like point #2 is perfect for me. ~ a 3.5 hour drive there from where I live.

Isn't it an Hour and a half in the wrong direction though?

Depends on how many peeps are there. If like two people will be at #1, then **** it.

we're going to wait for people to get to #2, then ride down, thats why the rest areas are 45mins, for people to be able to get there, and people to put gas and stuff.

may be leaving from atlanta, but if Im still in VA then ill be on stop #2

 

come on people we need more cars for the caravan. look how many people all the rest of the caravans have. lets get a move on

 

I know that the sc/nc/east tn guys will be traveling down i-40 too so you should meet up with them somewhere around the knoxville area so you can roll even deeper.

Be patient and more people will join the thread. I'm expecting thousands and thousands of people to join us for Import Alliance 2007.

 

July is right around the corner.

 

I know, it's crazy. Time has been flying by for me.
