It's been doing what? Making noise? Under what conditions does it do "it"? The more info you give the easier it is to help.

it sounds like theres a bird chirping when the clutch is out but as soon as you put a little bit of pressure on it, it goes away, ive been reading for a while and i believe its the TOB.

I'm pretty sure that would be the input shaft bearing. Not sure how long its safe to drive with one going bad. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Hmm. When you had the Tranny rebuilt, did you have all bearings replaced? It would be a shitty deal if the bearings were reused and now your input shaft bearing goes bad.

Input shaft bearing, if that gets really bad it will break apart and nuke all the other bearings. trust me I know.

if the noise goes away when you put a little bit of pressure on it, it wouldn't be your TOB. Your TOB starts to spin as you put pressure on the pedal to release the clutch by making contact with your pressure plate. Input bearing more likely, possibly a countershaft bearing. Just have to think of what's moving in your transmission at what time according to what inputs you are giving it.

I'd bring it back to whoever rebuilt the trans and want receipts for 'new' parts used and warranty info to fix the obvious problem.

Look at this photo. Theres a rubber boot where I circled. Try spraying some lubricant in there. That fixed it for me

I'm having the same problem. Sounds like grinding. As soon as I push in the clutch the sound goes away. I was thinking it was the TOB also. I noticed my gears sound a bit louder also when under normal driving. How cmon is this? and what should be done?
Sorry I jumped in teg01type-r i just didnt want to make another thread

And yes i already searched the FAQ

I'm SURE this is a terrible idea, but I've been driving with mine like that for oh....10 months.
I love this fukcing car, and this car loves fukcing me.
Everytime I fix one thing, 2 more break.

Obviously, the right thing to do would be to drop the tranny and fix whichever MFing bearing it is.
Oh, and I guess replace that POS CKF sensor so my CEL will go away.

mine makes noise as well, when the clutch is out sounds like a bird chirp/quiet belt noise.

apply little pressure to the clutch pedal and it goes away. i also thought it was the throw out bearing

squeaks when:

clutch in/engaged = TOB (can also be the slave cylinder)

clutch out/disengaged = input shaft bearing. replace ASAP

when i had all of the syncros replaced i told them to check that and he said it looked fine, so thats why i was wondering, i sprayed some WD-40 in that boot and it has gone away, so i dont know what it could be...

i have a similar problem...you just spray lub in there and it'll fix it self? do you take out the the rubber and sprayed it or just take out the slave and spray it when its in the tranny? probably stupid question but hey anything to get rid of that noise

na man, just go out and look where it says in the earlyer post and pull the rubber boot back with like a screw driver and you will see like a metal shaft in there, spray some WD-40 on it and sure as hell it will go away if you have the same problem as i did...

Same here, although the noise resembles more of a belt whine in my case.

Though what I find interesting is that when I merely push in the accelerator, the sound dissappears entirely too (as well as when clutching IN) Anyone willing to chime in ?

Oh well, the clutch needs a replacing soon at any rate. So that'll be targeted first, (TO bearing) before having to do any serious labour and dropping an entire tranny in inspecting the input shaft bearing.

It's ghetto because you're using WD40

This is the goop that we're supposed to be using. Honda high temp urea grease.

It's a bit pricey at $12.00 or so per 1.75oz. It pays to know some techs at the dealership.

But I find just about any decent axle grease will do the job better than WD40. It won't dry up so quickly.
