Default anyone using a beaks kit and DC lower tie?

A few years ago, I ordered the EK reinforcement kit http://www.beaksproducts.com/S...t.htm

I used this kit to mount a Suspension Techniques bar on my 97 Hatch soon after I received it.

Since 1998 I’ve had a Neuspeed lower tie on there and the kit worked without interference with that bar as is; i had to do nothing to the lower tie to allow it to work w/o interference w/ the beaks kit and roll bar

That Neuspeed tie bar is now completely rusted and the bolts look scary. I have had an unused DC lower tie that has just been sitting waiting for this day. I do not have the bolts for this bar, but I’m pretty sure I need new longer-than-stock bolts.

Two questions-

1. will this lower tie bar’s ends work as well as the neuspeed one has with the beaks kit installed underneath my antiroll bar? These are black anodized ends with inset spots for the bolts heads. It's this bar- http://www.aempower.com/images...1.jpg

2. I noticed that beaks sells a kit to space out the lower tie from the subframe for some brands of ties, and neuspeed is one of them. The prob is i didnt have to do anything for this bar to work with my beaks kit...and i see they have a dc kit for the same purpose, so i'm curious if i can just get the long bolts that orig came with the dc bar and install it like the neuspeed one w/o any special spacer&bolt setup from beaks

Thanks y0

if the lower tie bar mounting ring/point is too big it will interfere with the sway bar mounting point... if it did that, then people wouldn't be using that tie bar...

cause the people who design these tie bars have to take into consideration the mounting location of the sway bar... and the beaks kit only affects that small area...

it should fit based on that logic.. but hey my logic has been wrong b4...

imo: ASR FTW, its a reinforcement and tie bar all in one 180@weaksauce

and i've heard of the beaks kit tearing out.. but since its been working for you...

I believe only the EG/DC chassis has a problem with the tie bar placement, since the EK chassis has the sway bar mounts to the outside of the LCA bolts it most likely won't interfere

you are right: Wil confirmed that the 96-00 are typically fine.

i have another question though now that i know that- Wil said his tie bars use the factory bolts and that the DC might also require factory length bolts. He confirmed that the Neuspeed one definitely uses longer bolts, and i know that to be true since i had to use their long bolts when i put it in almost a decade ago...

He said his mounting is only 1/4" thick for his tie bars so i guess it's a case of measuring this DC.

So, the question is- did anyone's DC bar come with bolts or did they re-use the factory joints?

My old setup with the Beaks Kit and 22mm ITR bar and similar style generic lower tie bar with stock length bolts...No issues.

But for what you'll probably pay for that DC Tie Bar.
I would suggest putting a little more cash towards an ASR subframe brace and have the best of both worlds.

thanks for the pics.

the thing is i've had this tie bar for several years, brand new, just sitting in my garage. it was given to me along with loads of other pre-AEM DC stuff by charlie wenstrup before the AEM acquisition since we were contracted w/ DC before the buyout.

So why not just go out and see if it fits/works?

gabe- mainly because i have a 9 year old neuspeed bar on there with their included bolts which are incredibly corroded from years of oceanside living and snow and entirely too long for use with this type of bar...I installed that bar 9 years ago, so i don't have the original LCA bolts, hence my position in this thread- I'd def go order Honda's bolts if DC uses the factory ones, but if DC includes their own then maybe for some reason they are different. I've even emailed Daniel and even Kirk @ AEM plus left a message and noone has called me back...

If i "try" something without the right bolts in hand, the car will be immobile because aside from being too long, i can guarantee those neuspeed bolts will be unuseable and probably break when i remove them.

crisis averted- i found out on another forum that the DC piece uses OE bolts. NICE!
