Anyone ever heard of Silkroad
How about the Silkroad RMA 64's

I just had this suspension put on today and its rediculous. I am happy to say that only 2 EK's in the world have this suspension. If you dont believe me do some research.
Alright Im editing this post because my power just came back on after a huge windstorm we just had here in Washington. Sorry would have posted this info the day after the original post, but my power was out until just recently.
ouch flammed to ****. O well. Yes I was bragging but sorry I was excited. I was also pretty tired by the time I got home from the shop and posted the original thread. I have all the tech information you guys were wondering about. I would have posted earilier, but here in Washington we just had real big windstorm and my power just recently returned.
Alright here we go.
The setup is Silkroad RMA-64.
Pillowball mounts
Its a strut and coilover setup (obviously from the pictures) with external reseviors.
The front spring rate is 14k or 14,000 kg per square millimeter.
The rear spring rate is 12k or 12,00 kg per square millimeter.
As you can probally also tell from the pictures there are two springs. The top spring is a helper spring which is fully compressed when the car is lowered to the ground.
The ride hight adjustment is not that significant maybe about 2-2.5 inch drop.
Finally, the external reseviors are for changing the bound and rebound or the strut. Dampening for all of you that dont know is the bound and rebound together.
The reseviors allow you to independantly adjust bound and rebound. This makes for 64 diffrent adjustment settings per strut. Hence RMA-64.
Now for the review.
Latley the weather has been pretty bad so I havent really been able to test the suspension as much as I wanted. However, the ride is much stiffer than a stock setup. The handeling is alot tighter and I havent quite yet been able to break the tires loose yet. Right now I have the bound set to nearly full stiff. The rebound is set to little more toward soft. Now that I have gotten more used to the stiffness of the springs I plan on adding a little more stiffness to the rebound.
Sorry I came off as an ******* at first. I really didnt mean to but I hope this helps . O yeah and I do plan on replacing the drum brakes. I was going to do this before the suspension, but I got a really good deal that I couldnt pass up. Another thing is I didnt just drop a nice suspension on a stock car. I have a fully built motor and I am still debating whether or not I will be doing drag or road racing this next track season. Let me know if you have anymore questions or I guess if just want to flame a little more thats ok. Almost forgot for those of you who think im lying about the only 2 cars having this suspension Im really not. Silkroad just hasnt really released the kit to the public yet. I just thought it was kinda cool that the only other Ek that had it was the j's racing EK but whatever.

it's a big name with the 240 crowd, although they don't really have a rpesence here state side. Cool, I see you have their new coilover w/ the external reservoir, comparisons with other set ups?
Yes they are huge in the 240 crowd and are just making their mark here stateside. I was running stock struts with some shitty ebay coilovers so its almost not even comparable. I still have some adjustment to do, but its great so far.

i hope youre not jacking up the rear of the car in the middle of the rear subframe, its soft/thin metal there and will bend/deform; i know this from experience, the proper place to jack up the rear is the rear tow hook

Hahaha... yeah, like someone is going to actually take the time to search around and see if anyone else has these coilovers. lol Do you honestly think we care?

So you spent what... maybe 3k on some JDM bling?
I am sure you don't even know the spring rates..
Maybe you should think about losing the drum brakes.
Retard.

Anyone would be excited if they dropped major coin in a suspension upgrade, its understandable.
Just a minor correction, the spring ratings of 14k and 12k are probably kg/mm, and not kg per square inch (I don't know of any manufacturer that will mix metric and standard units in their measurements). The rating means amount of kg required to compress the spring 1mm, so 14kg/mm means it would take 14kg to compress the spring 1mm.
