Draw on my Battery?
Hello,
Can any one help? I have a problem with my 1998 Accord Coupe EX there is a draw on the battery and if it sits for about two days without driving it the battery goes dead!
I just put a new battery in the car and went back to make sure that the new battery is not defective and they check it out all is good with the battery.
I then checked the car for draws by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and putting a test light from the battery negative terminal to the ground wire and the test light lights up brite?
Has anyone had a problem like this before does anyone have any ideas where to begin?
I have disconnected the radio and checked to make sure all interior lights are off and that the trunk and glove box lights go out as well, they all do!
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thx

With the test light set up like you had it, start pulling fuses one at a time till the light goes out.
Have your radio code in hand and remove the back up fuse first.
Then when you find the fuse that shuts off the test light you can repost with the fuse #/ circuit name, and someone might be able to cough up a circuit schematic for you.

Ok I will do that and repost, but a quick question for you you said remove the back up fuse first? Which fuse # is this fuse? And so I understand your post I just remove one fuse if light does not go out replace it and move on to the next on, is this correct?
thx

what are you gonna draw on your battery? are you a graffiti artist? i bet you could make some good money doing that. it's a good original idea. make a website and then have people send in their batteries so you can draw on them. I want a little calvin and hobbes tiger on the top of mine with your autograph next to it. that would look tight and my sponsors would like it. i like to study so i can know everything about life. life has lots of complicated things in it. but it's good that you've come up with this original idea so now you can patent it and be set for life. maybe you can sponsor some kid one day and he will drag race his accord so you can pay for his motors too.

Use a fluke meter perform a draw test, unplug fuses like blower motor, auxilary fans, when the amperage drops on the meter you've found your draw.
Car has to be asleep when you do this if not you'll burn your fuse in your fluke. I use an inline fuse to prevent that.
