Default First attempt at boosting my GSR

I've been researching this for the past 5 years waiting until I had a garage to work in and saving the funds to do it right.

Engine
1998 GSR internally Stock

Apexi Boost control kit
Neukin AC Ramhorn with 3 inch DP and closed loop dumptube
Tial 38mm wastegate
Precison SC3427E

Stock TB bored to 64mm by Maxbore
Skunk2 Pro Series Intake Manifold
RC 750CC Saturated Injectors
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
PLX M300 Wideband
3 inch Cat/3 inch Thermal Turbo Exhaust
Samco coolant hoses
Buddy Club Cam gears
Moroso 5.5 quart steel oil pan
Jaz catch can
GE oil sandwich/fuel rail/vacuum manifold
Aeromotive FPR -> dumped in favor of stock FPR after it started leaking fuel
Stock ignition system with BKR7E plugs gapped to .028
Fast Turbo Oil feed/fuel line kits
(2) 12 inch slim fans
MF Factory oil cooler/filter relocation kit

UPDATE

Suspension/Drivetrain
Quaife LSD
Toda Lightened Flywheel
Exedy Stage 2 Thick clutch
Energy suspension motor mount inserts
Tein Flex Coil Overs
Full Race Traction Bars
Skunk2 short shifter/shift ****
Energy suspension shifter bushings
Comptech Tie bar/sway bar combo
5Zigen FN01R-C
Hankook Ventus RS-2

Ceramic coating was done by Swain Tech(manifold/DP/DT/turbine housing)
Powder coating was done by TRG coating(Compressor housing/valve cover/TB/manifold/charge piping)

Goal was initially 300whp...but since the car was tuned on a Mustang Dyno I had to temper my expectations. The spring in the waste gate is 7psi but boost was creeping to 9 psi on the dyno, likely due to using the 38mm gate and running low boost pressures.

I was told MD are about 15% less than a dynojet...so that would put the output right around 300whp. There are a few dynojets in the area. I may take the car to one and see what it does, but I'm more concerned with the car driving right vs a whp number.

Tune and corner weighting were done on Friday 10/20. I am very pleased with the results, other than the lack of traction at times , but I'm sure that will get better with more seat time. I just put the Hankooks on tonight, so I'm hoping they help the traction issue as well. The car drives like it were stock, even idles a little better than it used too. Part throttle is exceptional and I think my gas mileage may actually have gone up.

The guys at P1, Jack, Tony, and Mike were great to deal with and they made sure to keep me informed during the tuning. The only problems we had were a charge pipe blowing off and a fuel leak from me tearing one of the injector o-rings when I put the 750s in. Jack didn't get a chance to adjust the cam gears because we ran out of time, due the charge pipe blowing off. I'm sure he could have gotten a little more power by adjusting the gears.

Yea, 5 years. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but I figured buying a house first was a smarter move. I have some much more free time now that the car is done.

Nice numbers. I'm like you though...dynoed mine on a mustang dyno and the numbers were lower I had anticipated, but who really cares about peak numbers as long as it drives good and pulls hard...thats what really matters. Have fun with it.

I understand where you are coming from, but I wanted to do it simple first. The motor only has 75,000 on it and when I had the pan/oil pump off everything looked brand new. I'm already trying to dig up a block that I can have sleeved for the next motor.

As for 8200, the thing gets to the rev limit so fast that Jack was getting off a bit early because it was bouncing off the limiter.

I love the power fc. I was thinking of going with an AEM EMS then went with the power fc. For what I need, it's perfect. Unless I turn it into race car, I think I'm set for life with an EMS for this car. More pics coming...
