what can i expect from hx rims

Not really. The car will have 24lbs total less unspring and rotational weight than with the stock 14x5.5" steel wheels. That's the only difference. You may notice marginal improvements, mostly in braking and off-line acceleration. Don't expect anything drastic.

Ligher rims = less rotaional mass = lower times. Might not be much, tho.

Yeah, that too.
He said he has an EJ8, so it is definitely an EX. He'll need 5mm spacers for the front, or he'll have to grind down the calipers.

Changing unsprung mass without changing compression damping ftw!

Not without a spacer or minor caliper modifications.

yup...just put a spacer on and you'll be golden
Here's mine

No.
You don't "need" the spacer up front if you're willing to grind a little bit of material from the caliper.
Don't bother with a spacer in the rear.
edit:
How much did you guys pay for your 5mm spacers?

Why don't you just get aftermarket wheels with a lower offset and a wider width then? If you're interested in a more aggressive look, you're not going to find it with 5.5" +50mm HX wheels and a 5mm spacer.

ya but i dont got the money for some nice after market rims, and i dont wana draw too much attention. Thieves
I think the hx rims are perfect.

yeah, i agree with the look of HX. stockish but better than steel.
technically you should get better gas mileage... braking and accel should have better numbers, but i doubt you would notice unless you drive it competitively (like autocross)
yeah the calipers, you can just shave those down, cheaper and more sound than spacers.
also, more important than the wheels...is the rubber you put on them. deffinately H rated or better. 195...14 __H/V/W...

Speed rating has little or nothing to do with actual tire performance.
