Default where is my mph? just a question because i am 15-20 mph slower but e.t. is close

i know i have a little b16, but i didnt think that would make that much of a difference, it is an 84mm b16, gsr cams, t3t67ho, exedy twin that has 10 passes on it, 520whp/313tq (until we added 2* timing havent gotten it back on the rollers yet) b16 tranny, quaife, and 24.5 m&h's leaving at 8200, shifting at 9400, trapping 8800 +-. the thing is, and no i dont have the plot on my pc, peak power was at 9500+- and looking at my trap, i thought i should be right where i need to be. this was not my best mph, but you can see whats up. the 60' on this pass was a 1.68 but it was obviously spinning still. here are the incrementals from that pass, atco nj, northeast nhra sc nats may 20.

o2 sensor died rolling off of the trailer, pay no attention to the wideband. was 11.2 on the dyno.

VIDEO:
http://www.sportcompacttuning....t.wmv

60' 1.688
330' 4.603
660' 6.951
105.36
1000' 8.984 ( may be atco's 990, they say they switched it, but it is still 990 on the slip)
1320' 10.723
129.54

i did trap 130.59 on the previous pass, looking at my tape footage, on the vid i posted, i shifted at 60' and the 130 trap, i think i shifted a little earlier.

any help positive or negative appreciated.

EDITED: COULD THE RU-2510 FILTER BE HOLDING ME BACK?

The e.t. with that mph appears on par with the 1.68 60' ft. but it doesn't seem to reflect 520whp. Maybe the horsepower figure was significantly lower when you made the 10.7 pass possibly?

it was weird because i made a 10.96 on the 520, then added 2* and went the 10.7. i dont know. i am just thinking my engine is tired, it has been in there for almost 4 years now.

mikey is it making power all the way to 9500? becasue if it does then i would keep reving it you should gain some mph from that

Yeah if peak power is at 9500 I would goto at least 10 or 10.2 and then shift.if the power band is narrow then the higher shift should help keep it into the band more.

What does the car weigh? Also what kind of tire pressure are you running? Is the car on pump or race gas? I would maybe trying leaning the car out a bit. The car seems to be hooking good with good MPH in the 1/8. But might be going rich up top and causing you to loose some top end.

on the other hand, the engine could be detonating in the lights and causing the motor/speed to fall off. Another thought is that it just doesn't like the t3 exhaust and quits breathing under the load of high gear.

I'm not sure but would not a T4 housing flow much better at the high rpms you are running?

not to get in to this but theres alot of people running some high mph wit that turbo so i dont think its because its a t3...another thing is theres a 84mm b16 hatch around my way running 11.5@133 with a t3 setup hes running around 22-24 pounds of boost but he doesnt have the e.t that u have...

You sure your not missing power somewhere?

A friends 4 door gsr (weighing over 3000lbs with driver) was trapping 129-131 making about 525whp. It was also going extremely rich above 8500rpms in 4th (a/f low 10's). It turned out the ignitor was bad and we picked up ~75whp on the same boost swapping it out..

BTW: this was with a t3/t67 with a shitty *** stage 3 wheel , i don' think your turbo is the problem

i dont think the turbo is either, i am too affraid to do a compression test, i just think this engine is just tired. i will try the cams, and lean it out a little and see what happens.

Yep mikey, I also thought your MPH was a little off considering your WHP. The car obviously hooks and loves the current setup because it's putting down the E.T's though. What gear was the car tuned in?

if it were me, i would def do a compression test before i just rev it to 10500. if the eng needs to be rebuilt then i would whether rebuild it now before the engine lets loose and then youll be spending a lot more money when the engine blows. know what i mean?

rebuild it while its still running and it will be a lot cheaper. 4 years out of this setup is incredible! i really wouldnt want to destroy the setup just to get the mph up.

just my two cents

i agree, but this setup is getting retired anyway with my gsr in the works. i just want to be a little more competitive this year thats all.
