Default B16 swap in progress

Im bored so I thought I would show every one what I plan on doing

Stuff need for B16 swap
~mounts
~ Shift linkage
~ integra axles
~ integra throttle cable
~ radiator and fan
~ piping for radiator
~ Rear motor mount bracket some swaps don’t come with it
~ wiring harness
~ brake up grade
~ change the spark plugs, alternator, and etc
~ header and piping and muffler
~ b16 complete change over
~ new tires

cost around 4000

i already have the b16 complete change over, radiator and fan, throttle cable, mounts shift linkage, wiring harness is on its way from rywire ,

I still need a little bit more and the only reason Im changing my brakes and tires is because when I bought the car it had shitty brakes and tires

Tell me what ya think and the B16 has a pr3 ecu and j1 tranny

why dent in your engine bay if you can just move it and if you ever had to replace the alt it would be a bitch because It would be all close to the bay so why not just move it

The dent isn't even that noticable, you will need to fabricate both mounts and find a belt to fit, I mean it can be done but I replaced my alternator and had enough room to pull it up through and out the top next to my intake mani, you will also need to exend the wire harness too

we was gonna try and do it and if we had to fabricate the mounts we werent going to move it so I dont know extend wires is easy its just lining the alt. up and getting a belt

I'm not an electrician but I don't know if you exten the wires to much and make them to long that will decrease the amperage or voltage or something I believe, I mean go for it, it would be cool, but seems like a lot of work...I can show you how to fit a D series alt on you B series

Oh yea when I replaced mine all I did was unbolt it, remove the top alt mount and just pulled it right up, wasn't to hard but I have a B18b with an OBD1 intake mani in my crx, don't know if a B16 wouldbe different

trying to save money really dont need to buy a d sereis alt. but I really didnt get to work on it today had to help a buddy move but I did look into switching it and you would need custom brackets because were off by half a bolt. Probably going to leave alt where its at and see if it fits with out banging in the wall

Oh no I wasn't saying to buy a D series alt was just saying that it can be done so maybe mounting on the front would work, but yea it looks to be a pain...

I would suggest you bang out the frame because once you get the motor in and realize just how close it is if it isn't hitting the frame you will have to pull the motor out to dent it in, just do it, its been done many tiems and there is a reason you should do it, I believe it fits but when you try to adjust the belt you'll hit the frame, and if your mounts aren't stiff the engine could tourqe and send the alt into the frame probably causing a big mess

Yea linkage can be easy its just the pin that is a pain, I left mine attached when I dropped the D out, it was really easy to get out once the motor was on the ground

I believe its an 8mm punch and just tap it out with a hammer but it is a Bitch hence the name "Bitch Pin" some people use air hammer/chisles with a punch thats the easiest if you have air tools and I know a guy on here made tool out of a C clamp that wil remove it

You won't notice a dent if you do it right, put tape over the area first even then its down below.

Second there is no room up front for the alternator.

If you don't want to damage your engine bay when bangin it out for the alternator, go get a bath towel, fold it up thick, and put it against the bay b4 you start banging. That way you wont put any gashes or scratches in.
