Hey guys I recently had a problem with rubbing on some 16" Rotas so I threw on a set of steelies until I have enough for a set of smaller GT3's. The steelies were rusted to hell so i thought i might as well paint them up and do a write up on it as well- Let me know if i did anything wrong on any of the steps-
BEFORE:

AFTER:

1) Take off your wheels from the car- pull out all the valve stems and proceed to remove tire from rim.
2) Use a wire brush to remove excess rust on the wheel
3) Next using a sandblaster spray all the wheels- I used a pretty heavy grit media called black beauty- it worked awsome a little too rough tho

4) Using a grinder and a steel cup attachment( i think thats what its called lol) Grind down any areas that need cleaned up

5) Wash all wheels with soap and water and allow to dry
6) Next wipe down all the wheels with alcohol or whatever you have laying around that will clean them down
7) Throw down a few layers of primer - I was going to skip this step but it started giving me fish eyes

8) After primer is has dried sand down wheel and clean - spray your basecoats down
9) Sand down base followed by a couple layers of clear

All in all it took a couple days working slow whenever i had some free time- im pretty happy with how they turned out and they will work awsome in the winter-

yea the steelies right now are all i can run until i figure out the weird scraping noise- I learned the hardway tho not to run stainless steel brake lines that are cheap aftermarket ones with 13" wheels- they will scrape and cause u to blow a line
As for products i used a rather cheap can of primer by a brand that was american somethign i bought at lowes
For the base i used some metlic paint- i dont remember brand but it was about 5 bucks
and top i used a cheap clear just to get it done
