With a CRX like this there's no other option. Unless you dump big bucks into it, it aint goin away, I got a CRX that had crazy rust on it and I was gonna sell it too, but I decided a running car was worth more to me than the little amount I'd get for it, so 2 gallons of bondo later my CRX looks flawless, and makes a great daily driver
Just rock it as the daily, and save up for a new project car w/o rust! Thats what I did!

I didn't half *** my ****, it was just rusted beyond reasonable repair. There was rust around the windhield a 1/2 in back, the sun roof had 3 holes, there was no rear quarter from the rear bumper past the gasdoor, and no rear quarter on the otherside.....the doors and fenders wer're rusted as expletive too, but I replaced them with doors I repaired that had less rust and other fenders.
I wasn't half assing, but the car needed another cars worth of metal to repair, and thats just rediculous.
If the OP's car we're mine I'd just grind it down and Bondo b/c it's out of site. If done properly it'll stop the rust from coming back.
I love how people think Bondo is just the absolute worst thing in the world......

I have a rust problem too.
For the minor problems (stuff that was going to be covered up later) I covered them up with a self etching primer to stop, and prevent rust.
I had a simlair rear end problem. The bottom of the cargo space was rusted out. I went to a junk yard and luckily found another CRX (CRX's are getting crushed due the to increased value in steel).
I basically had cut out the entire cargo area on it and put it into my CRX (cutting out the rust) Then weilded the new piece onto my CRX. Then covered it in the etching primer to protect it.
I'm sure you can do the same thing, you just have to find a mostly gutted out CRX somewhere and cut off all the pieces you need, or tow it to your garage like I did
