Help! D2 rear coilovers on an RSX
Hello, I am installing D2 coilovers in my RSX, and need help putting the rear coilover together. If anyone here has experience with this, please help!
The rear D2 coilovers for the RSX require the stock upper mount to complete the coilover. However, I am not sure which parts of the stock suspension to use.
This is the guide I was trying to follow: http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=154641
I believe the guide said to just use the metal upper mount without the stock rubber bushings, and instead use the metal washers that came on the D2 coilover. However, when I do this, the completed assembly does not even reach the bottom of the threaded section at the top of the damper, where the top nut goes. The whole setup looks really loose, like I'm missing something. Does anyone know what the order of pieces of the full coilover should be?
How I have it right now on the damper from the bottom: 2 ring perches, rubber insert between perch and spring, the coilover spring, rubber dust boot, washer, rubber insert between spring and upper mount, upper mount from STOCK suspension with attached rubber ring (#9 and #10 in above picture), "tube washer", washer, nut.
With that setup, and top nut screwed all the way down, the parts are still loose. The setup also shows a lot of places with metal on metal contact, which might be abnormal.
Also, the perches are about half an inch from the lowest thread on the damper. One way I see that will solve the problem is to raise the perches... but that seems to defeat the purpose of the coilovers, especially the lower threads.
Is my set up right, or am I missing something?
Please help! Thanks in advance!
