HYDROLOCK? what is the damage?
my friend drove in a big puddle like as high as the wheel...and his intake sucked up alot of water...his car died on the road...i went to go help him....his whole filter was trenched...the engine coudlnt' turn...how bad is it? how can we fix it?
try removing the spark plugs and crank the engine over to remove all the water from the cylinders. drain the oil and re-fill it with fresh oil and try to re-start it. if that fails then he might have some serious problems.
Pull the plugs out and crank the motor over to "spit" out all the water in the piston chambers..
The motor may have sucked in enough water to "wash down" the compression rings and compression may not exsist when you get all the water out.. If this happens pour approx 3-4 ounces of 5w-30 motor oil in the piston chambers and try to get that compression back by cranking over the motor with the plugs out to coat the cylinder walls with oil..
make sure the distributor assy is dry along with any other ignition parts..
after you get the car fired up, you will need to change the oil and transmission fluid..
did water enter the cabin? if so, you will neeed to remove the electrical components affected and dry them out ASAP ( Ecu,Tcu,Control Modules etc)

just wondering, but did he have one of those bypass valves while that happened?.....kinda curious whether this will actually prevent some much water from coming in......i cant see how that would help a CAI....some stupid lil bypass valve that looks like crap
I might be wrong, but if your friend kept the engine on hard during the venture he could have bent a conrod or two. But that I think would be the bottom line here.
when you guyz talkin about crank the engine does that mean keep tryin to start it up and off again? like turn the ignition above the on position???

Yes IgniteTeg, they're talking about cranking the engine with the starter to get the pistons to rotate and pump out the water. If you can revive the engine that way, you're VERY lucky. In most hydrolock cases, you can: blow the head off the engine, snap a piston rod, bend valves, put holes in your block, pretty much destroy the engine. I would be VERY impressed if the engine parts in the Prelude motor aren't bent in any way. But I hope they aren't, for your friend's sake, good luck
