Default New Old Guy

Hi,
I'm closer to 70 then 20,so I don't feel like a New Guy... But I am new to here.

Just bought my first Honda. A used 1991 Accord. About 300,000 miles. Outside is well just plain ugly.

Inside... WOW... Supper clean. No rips, stains, cracks and so on.

Has small break fluid leak. No AC. Do not yet know why it leaks and the AC may just be a leak.

I bought it as my 1991 Lexus LS400 was totaled and insurance is doing the let's play game thing... But they are about to meet my attorney....

So, I need a good enough for now car to get me around... Well this likely is a keep it car.

Test drove it for 10 to 12 miles. This car just wants to be driven. In the 110% Arizona heat.

All stock accept the radio.

Bought from the original owner with a ton of receipts from the day it was new...

Out side no real dents but paint is a train wreck. Bad rust only on the center of the hood and drivers front fender. If I fix it, it's just a fender and hood swap. Then paint car.

Well now you know about me.

I will be posting questions.

The first is how do I clean the engine (it's not bad, but cleaning it would be nice)

Now if you thinking... Hay just spray it with engine cleaner and hose off...

Well I did that when I first got my Lexus.... Big mistake... That cost 300 bucks to fix.

Lexus does not like water under the hood. You will kill you two coils and more.

So, most likely I can just hit the Honda with engine cleaner and wash of with a very light low pressure water hose...

But I'm looking to check first...

Thank you to all.

If you want pics let me know...

Oh, it was a Craigslist find. Asked 200 bucks. I did not even try to go lower as at 200.00 it's a deal.

Looks like I'm now a Honda owner and this little car may end up with me for some time.
