I am not sure of the exact amount, It depends how long you let it drain. You will probably need at least 4 Qts. Check for leaks, and make sure everything looks ok, You really don't need to do much to honda tranny's they are very solid. I work at a tranny shop and rarely see hondas. When I do see one, it usually has 200,000 Miles on it. I can get you exact fluid amount tommorow if i remember.

don't believe there's a tranny filter either, i think most honda's tranny use a metal screen that the fluid goes through and you just clean off the screen.

SS trannies blow and fail very frequently, sometimes honda might deny your warranty if you do anything with the tranny itself.

p.s. - make sure you use Honda ATF

edit: warranty is for a replacement rebuilt tranny

the 2000 and 2001 preludes have extended service (100000 miles) on the tranny. so hope you have one of those years

ooops 99 and up.

Read carefully to this: drive your car until the trans fails on you, then when the check engine light goes off, call you service manager at honda and tell them to fix this **** NOW and also to make sure the trans had something to do with the emissions warranty.

Basically the emissions warranty covers anything that makes the engine compartment go bad and throw the code at you.

That is what saved mine, i got a rebuilt trans from honda with 3 year warranty, last october.

Though, i am planning a 5 speed swap, but if you like your auto, fight to keep it rolling.

it worked for me and a few other peeps.

You see, that vin and some ***** and some 30 minute patience will make wonders at the end.

oh by the way, add a trans cooler: hayden #677.

After i installed that thing, this car rides nice and smoother shifts.

Thanks preludeonline.com
