Default Why would I spend money for Shock Absorber? 5 Signs Reveal the Fact

A shock absorber is designed to help the driver maintain control of the vehicle even driving on the bumping road. A wide variety of things can lead shock absorber to fail, and today we are here to provide a guidance that could help you recognize signs of bad shocks so that you can make a wise decision before you decide to replace them.

1. Vibrations

When you driving on the road with your hands on the steer wheel, every tiny bump in the road that you can feel is telling you that the valving or piston seal inside the shock is wearing out and it not set very well. So, when you feel abnormal vibration frequently, please be alerted.

2. Swerving or nose diving while braking

For example, if a driver tries to make a right turn but he can feel it harder to shift to the left during the turn and s/he have to correct it, causing a swerve. When applying brake, the weight of the vehicle will shift farther forward than expected causing a nose dive.

3. Taking more time to stop a car

This means that when a driver applying the brake, it takes more time for the vehicle to take up all the piston rod length if uncontrolled and this will extend the stopping distance required to come to a complete stop.

4. Uneven tire wear

A worn shock is unable to keep the tire standing on the road surface. This will cause a slight bounce when the vehicle moving on the road. The part of the tire that is in contact with the road will wear but the part of the tire that is not in contact with the road will not, causing uneven tire wear. At last, the contact area will become an excessively worn patches in the tire tread.

5. Leaking fluid

If the fluid in the shaft begin to leak towards the ground, the loss of fluid will cause a loss in the ability of the shock to perform its function as there will be less and less fluid in the chamber to work with.
