I know i'll probably get flamed for this, but why is it that people wig out so bad about stretched tires and act like it's the most dangerous thing in the world, when pro drifters stretch the hellll out of their tires and yes they blow out, but not really all that much and they're clearly putting the tires through more abuse than an average person would just driving down the road. so honestly why do people freak out so bad and get so "offended" when people say they're gonna stretch. Just curious. thanks.

Because this site (or at least this specific forum) has decided to only discuss technical topics.

There is no technical aspect of tire stretching to discuss as doing so is outside of the manufacturer's approved use and of no performance benefit.

If you want to use a product outside of its approved use, feel free. However, don't promote such things here.

Head over to the appearance/cosmetic forums if you'd like to discuss such cosmetic modifications.

It's a safety issue. Tires that are mounted on wheels that are wider than approved by the tire manufacturer often develop excessive stress and heat in the sidewalls, and sometimes they can blow out or pop the bead (come off the rim). It doesn't always happen - some people are lucky and don't have problems - but it does happen some of the time, even in normal street use, and is a significant risk. When it does happen, it can not only ruin a tire, but also can cause an accident. That's why we don't allow such advice to be posted here.

The policy of this forum is described in more detail in the rules for the forum, which you might want to take a look at. Stickied at the top of this forum is a topic:

Forum Rules and FAQ - READ BEFORE POSTING

Among other things, it says:

4a. When starting a topic, make the title specific enough that people scanning the list of forum topics will know what's inside. "Need help" or "have a question" are not specific enough. We will rename threads in ways that you might not like.
That's why the title of this topic has been changed from "just curious".
