Default Tire size?

I have a set of 205/50/15's on my itr's which are perfect. My question is should I use the same size on my new 15x7 slips? Or should I go bigger to accommodate for the wider rim?

Tire size is mostly a function of the car you are using. First you select an appropriate size for your car then you ensure that that size is approved for the rims that you have. 205-50s should be good for 7inch rims but you can make sure by looking up the spec sheet for that tire on a place like tirerack.com

Tirerack doesn't help when it comes to sizing by rim. I called my local tire shop and they said to use 215/50/15 which is really wide if you ask me. Also the cheapest tire they have in that size are $125 a pop which is ridiculous for a 15 inch. What width should I use?

Some tire manufacturers have the acceptable width variance numbers on their site, might have to do a little hunting though. 205, 215 will both work on your 7" rim. Are you lowered? I used to run a 225/50-16 on my 91 accord at stock height with motegi mr8(7.5" wide if I remember correctly), and loved it....it was a little "meaty", but that was the look I was going for(plus its harder to bend rims with the added side wall). I could of lowered it an inch or two without any rubbing either. How wide are your current rims?

A 205-50-15 will be fine for 15x7 wheel.

Dave is right. Most 205/50-15 tires are approved for mounting on wheels that are 5.5-7.5 inches wide, so they are fine for your 15x7 wheels.

The reason your tire shop told you 215/50-15 is that that size has the same outer diameter as your stock 195/55-15 tires. However, your tire shop did not take into account that (a) 215/50-15 tires on an Integra will rub, and (b) the only tires available in 215/50-15 are crap.

205/50-15
