tire ?
Dont run anything wider than 205 without "modded" or "rolled" fenders, unless ur at stock ride height. Lol a 55 series sidewall on a 16" tire would look HUGE and give you clearance issues if lowered. As a general guideline, the larger u go from stock wheel size: the smaller u go on sidewall hight, for example: my ej1 stock is supposed to run 175/65 14, (175 would be the width, 65 is the sidewall height, and 14 is the wheel size) so if u go 15 u would want to drop that sidewall # to either 55 or 50 depending on tire width, anything 195 width and up id drop it to a 50 sidewall, and if u ran 16's u would want to drop sidewall height to 45 to compensate for increase in wheel size. U followin me? Hope this all helps and good luck and be PICKY at ur tire shop, alot of times they take the easy way out.
Well since this was posted in the 92-00 forum i assumed some variation of eh/ej. Wich makes this a ride height sensitive issue, and also a driving style issue. Ive worked at 3 tire shops out here in the bay and i am a fully certified tire tech thru americas tire (sounds cheezy i know) but if ur lowered substantially i dont recommend a 55 sidewall on any 16" wheel, and that goes for any ej/eg/eh/ek or even dc/db tegs. It looks ugly and is unecessary on our small cars. Although if ur at stock height u should have no issues, u will just look rediculous.

i was jw since my friend was giving me some spare 205/50/16 free that are fresh ...my car is more lower in the front than in the rear its a ek 4dr...so u recommend just getting 205-45-16 all around
The car dictates tire size more so then the wheels you have for it. Since you have an EJ6/8 sedan, both 205/45/16's and 205/50/16's would work. But, the 205/45/16's would be the better choice for your chassis.
What's your wheel width? That'll make a difference in tires, too. Gotta find out what that is before you can start determining tire size.
FWIW, my EK sedan is on 205/45-16 tires with 16x7 Enkei RPF1s with a 42 offset. I'm on a stock height suspension, haven't had any rubbing issues, and they're flush with the fenders.
