Some help with possible alignment issues
I got a new set of rims and tires (17 inch rims on 215/45 tires) for my 96 accord and went to pep boys to have them do an alignment and to mount the rims onto the car. I got the rims with the tires already mounted on them and balanced from wheelmax.com. So I went driving down the road about 45 mph and noticed that my car was pulling to the right when I took my hands off the steering wheel. So I take it back and tell them so the manager says that they will look at the balance of the front tires to see if there is a problem.
So they check the right front tire and tell me that the rim is bent. It was not horribly bent but a little bit. Honestly, I could barely see it, but seeing as I don’t know too much about it I trust them. So they check the tires and find that three of them are out of balance. So they put that one tire on the back right and the manager tells me to drive it and see what happens. Well all this was about 1 p.m. on Friday and I had to be at work 45 minutes away, so I had to drive it home. Of course, it was still pulling to the right when I took my hands off the steering wheel.
So I called the place again today and got a different manager and told him what was going on, he says to bring it in tomorrow and they will look at it.
Any ideas if they are telling the truth are they trying to pull some crap on me?

Usually a bent rim, or misbalanced rim will cause a vibration at high speed. Are they all the exact same rubber on them?
No, they are different sized tires. I came to find out today, when I took it in this morning that they had not done the alignment properly. They guy who did it today said the back was off by a whole lot. Basically they screwed up because they did the alignment with the old 15 inch honda rims on instead of doing it with the new 17 on.
I consider this thread solved. Thanks.
