Update: Want to place an order for these wheels and the sales rep at TunerShop is recommending 16*8 all around but the owner of the Del Sol in the pic on top says I should buy 16*9 for the agressive look.

The "agressive" look requieres that the wheels stick out more than the tires and I'm not sure I want this on a daily. What do you guys think?

Forewarning:

From the Forum Rules and FAQ:
10. Do not ask about "stretching" tires onto wheels that are too wide.
All such topics will be locked. Tire manufacturers determine the wheel widths onto which each model and size tire can be mounted safely, and you can find the range of these wheel widths in the specs on their websites as well as those of retailers like the Tire Rack. Mounting tires onto wheels outside this range of approved wheel widths is unsafe because it can, and often does, result in the buildup of excessive stress and heat in the tire sidewalls, which can lead to the tire "popping the bead" and/or tire failure. Make sure your tires are mounted on wheels whose widths are within the approved range.

Going with the 16*8. Checkout at Tunershop says they will call me for the offset of recommend the proper offset. Which offset should I be expecting and what tire size do you guys recommend?

If you don't mind modifying the car to increase the wheel/tire clearance a bit, you could fit a 16x8 +35 with a properly sized tire (215/40/16 would fit just fine).

Toyo, the guys at Tunershop are offering me offset 30. Will they fit properly without modification using the tire size you recommended?

No. To fit a 16x8 on your car with anything less than a +45 offset, you're going to have to modify the car for them to fit without rubbing (roll the fenders, and probably run some negative camber).

Wow that sucks - I don't understand how the guy with the Del Sol in the pic above was running 9" wheels...

You can see that the fenders are rolled in that picture. I guarantee he's got them rolled and probably even pulled.

Ok, then for a 30 offset, I need to run 7" wheels if I don't want to modify my car?

That's an accurate assumption.
