Default HELP with my wheels

After many years of wanting a ride with Ronal Teddies, i decided to buy a Del Sol to go with them.

I HAVE my Teddies. They are in near MINT shape except for the slight mishaps of me staring at them lovingly for a long time while cussing at my stupid car that has 5 lugs.

I now and the (overly) proud owner of a '95 Del Sol!!

I am suffering from a near fatal case of sun poisoning in my scalp from driving 6 hours straight to pick up my wheels from a friends house.

We smack these babies on my car........ and there is a space between the wheel and the hub.

I drive home (another 7 hours due to a wrong turn) with all 4 wheels and brand new tires stacked in the trunk.

Now, on top of the sunburn, I believe I may have carbon monoxide poisoning from driving with the trunk kinda open. daggone it I am blonde and cannot afford to lose any braincells.

I took my beloveds up to the tire place, and I thought Wheel spacers were the answer (again refer to the blonde, topped off with the knowledge that I am an OLD LADY)

I was helped by a delightful young man who explained to me that my teddy wheels are made for a hub of 54.1 and my lil cute Del Sol has a whopping HUGE hub of 56.1

I then did the math in my head and quickly realized i needed about 1 mm shaved off the inner part of my cherished wheels.

SOOOOOOO.... i called the wheel fixer-upper place and asked them to do it.

I just got yelled at and made fun of and told to go buy a MIATA.

That is NOT an option. I hate those stupid cars.

Now, I have seen plenty of mention of people using Ronal Teddies on their Civics (which i know are the same hub size) so WHat do you people DO to get to use Teddies on a HONDA????

Please help!

Have a professional bore out the hub to the size needed, and hope it doesn't weaken the wheel too much (it shouldn't, but it could).

WHO do you get to do this?

The Wheel Doctor is the "best" wheel fixing place in the area where i live, and they really did yell at me. I do not remember the whole conversation, but they said something like "YOU honda people need to stop doing this to wheels and buy rims that fit your car"

I doubt shaving off 1mm aroung the hub hole would weaken teh rims, if done properly.

but seriously, how are all the people on here doing the Teddy/civic combo?

do you just tighten the lugs and hope for the best?
smack on a wheel spacer (3mm) and bypass the hub entirely?
find a machine shop and offer the guy some beer to do it?
find a wheel shop that is nicer than the one around me?
go at it with a nail file?

I really do enjoy this car (and the pretty sparkly hood that is on it)

people bore wheels out all the time. if that shop wont do it, find another one. Unless they think its is totally unsafe, im sure someone out there will want this job.
