Default Curb Rash

Just bought some of the original fat fives for my sol (Thank you Finnish_EK_Race Now I'm going to attempt to repair some of the curb rash. The wheels have kind of a spiral texture all the way around. Any ideas on retaining/removing the texture? Also tips on repairing these? I'm reading not to use Bondo, but to use something like techno weld. Maybe I could TIG weld them and smooth it all out? But then again I have to figure something out with the texture.

The wheels originally come with a machined finish. The only way to retain this type of surface is to either not touch it at all, or get them re-machined after repairs are completed. Depending on how deep your gouges are, you may be able to just filed down any burrs and sand them to a more level surface and get them re-machined.

How much does re-machining usually cost?
I suppose I could also paint them silver with gunmetal accents?

To be honest, I'm not sure. I would ballpark it at around $100 or so a wheel, due to the nature of the work being done... but I'm not sure.

ya I would do this step 1st, you could blend in curb rash depending how deep it is just make sure tires are off that way you could blend it all around the edge and if you wanted to you could just polish the face since you a already in the process of blending the curb rash and save money instead of trying to find someone to machine the face
