I was wondering if anyone knew if Wyotech was a good school to go to? Because I just about ready to get done with college, and I want to learn how to properly MIG and TIG, and build motors, and what not. So, did anyone here go to Wyotech, or a different school? Lol..i'm sick of coming on here and seeing everyone else making million times better welds than I can make. So, any info is appreciated.
I am currently at the school in blairsville and it is the biggest load of bull **** ...... the only class that seems kinda good right now that i just started is chassis fabrication class.... but if u planning on comming to this school try and just come and take only chassis fab or street rod if they would let u because all the other programs are junk. in my opinion i wish i would have went to a different school

how are the collision repair courses? .. ive heard the tech ones are gey .. thats mainly b/c u start from one .. and most peeps already have a good knowlage of basics . so they say its gey ..
remenber u may know alot that they are going to teach .. but its the dam papers .. and ability to say u whent to wyotech .. that could possibly get u a job over some other student from some other school..

Well, from what I have heard and seen its like you take a core class, and then whatever smaller clases after- like chassic fab/HP engines. I was thinking of doing that. But..I want to get opinions from a couple diff. people now.
Since your in NY I thought I'd let you know about the schools I've been to and have freinds at, plus the one i'm at know. I have a freind at Wyo and he says its so overpacked it sucks ***. I also have freinds at Alfread state which has a good program. its set up with core classes but they let you do a lot of indy work. I visited a couple and ended up at Morrisville. Never heard of it , well either had I. Check out there web sight though its http://www.morrisville.edu. Our school is set up with each class broken down ie: chassis, engines, body, trans, elec, etc. Yea any tech school is a little gay at first but our proffesors are pretty cool and its not that over packed yet. We have a decent amount of import kids and tons of resources. If your looking for women though, tough luck bro, go to a libral arts school. hit me up if you got any ?'s. Peace bitches!!!
hey somone from platsburgh besides me exsists on this forum i go to SUNY Canton its 1.5 hours away from here and i would go again in a heart beat 2 year program the teachers are verry smart and really good guys people talk about emailing there teachers to talk to them i go to mcdonalds and eat with them. really down to earth if u are scerous about cars thats the only place to go as far as i am concernd.
Your kidding about canton right. I hope so. Moville offers 5 degrees. 2 are bachelors. But hey who knows to each his own. I can tell you right know though that theres 3 or 4 two year schools that are community colleges that are just as good. MCC alright, its right in rochester and there you got mad honey's. Good body program too. But were I'm at, free dyno time whenever we want pretty much. Enough said.

Well I know I don't work good around alot of people. I actually prefer working alone, So maybe a lesser known place would be good. But what I really wanted to learn was welding, and it looks like the Chassis fab. at wyo is what i would want. Do they have that type of thing at Morrisville? I may be interested. I got a little time to look into this.

Please open the schools web page if you have more questions. Yes there is a welding lab its pretty big too, we have 2 tigs, ones huge ,about a dozen migs and another dozen stick arcs. It's in the same building as the body lab. My school also just built a new 8 million dollar auto lab with over 9 labs and each one is class specific. Like I said go too http://www.morrisville.edu and check out the web page theres a lot of info there .

u can transfer from canton to morrisville after your second year if u want also its 3 hours closer to where he lives and its cheaper but u learn welding but it isint an extensive class u get the basics. if u want to learn how to fix cars go there. if u want to learn metal fabracation it wont work.
Didn't read the above.
I went there, it sucks, worse thing is getting a job is hit or miss for the collision/refinishing people. I keep in contact with some people from school and 4 out of the 6 I talk to don't have jobs in their feild. I myself work for honda in the warehouse. They tried to place me in a job but all the ones that were decently close (I drove 3 hours to an interview to fid out they wanted to pay me 9 bucks an hour) didn't want to pay you ****. For 25k I was expecting to be making a little more than 9 bucks an hour, If your jet set on making it I sugest going to shops and asking for a bullshit job and working your way up from there because thats what your going to doing anyways.
to the school
to the coke head chassis fab teachers, that was the only class that was worth the time to me...

I am a graduate of wyotech..and attended in the class ahead of blackwagon...school was fun for the parties and chassis fab was a great class...learned alot of good welding techniques....i personally work for aamco transmissions...and my stepfather owns a shop that i do my own personal cars at....comingout of wyotech i landed a position at a race team racing a world challenge type R in "Speed Wolrd challenge" what a cool series but too much traveling for me to contiune...only lasted 4 months...so like said...spent 25K on school to work at aamco

I went to wyo tech in laramie 18? years ago. At the time it was a pretty good school. I went for the general automotive and and still working in the field today. Some of the stuff at the begining is BS but overall 1-10 id give it a 9 easily

Im going to be going to school next year. Your input is all very informative. Just wondering what would be the best school to go to for performance and custom fab. Wether it be UTI, Wyotech, Nashville auto and diesel college, Lincoln technical institute, or any other place to go. Let me know with any info you might have.
i am also planing to attending the school next year and i was looking at uti in chicago and i was wondering if anybody went to uti and if uti is better than wyotech. information would be helpful.
I am going to Lincoln Tech, http://www.lincolntech.com damn good school if you pay attention, its full of slackers, I'd say like 85%, but if you do your **** right then you'll be set man. I am ding damn good.
