Im looking to buy a piece of solid square bar for jig making.

On online metals I found a piece that I want, 3.5" solid square, 24" long but its 240$.

Do any of you guys know where I can get a piece anywhere from 3.5X2 to 3.5X3.5 for a real good price,

I know prices are high but maybe someone has it around or something.


I just found plate too from online metals 3"X2"X24 for 83$ thats a little more reasonable, Im just concerned 2" wont be thick enough.

 

Scrap yard would be the cheapest I'm sure.

 

I just found a place industrial metal sales . com that has way cheaper prices

3' of 3" square is cheaper than 2' of 3" square from online metals by 30 bux.

Does it have to be solid, that's a hell of a steel chunk for a jig.

I got cr1018 3.5"x2.5"x24" and it was $178 This way i can drill/tap for multiple flanges and do inline 6 cyl as well, I picked it up today its ~75lbs.
