ummm hiii

lol holy shiiitttt looks sick!
how much power can the vq handle? is it built or stock? and aren't the 350 tranny's weak?

codenamezero 06-18-2007 08:01 PM

those aluminum bar is not gonna hold it...
and wouldn't the intake manifold sort a too small... i think it needs way more volume?

nevertheless, it would be sick once you reinforce everything i think!

Re: Little project of mine (R@mon)

looks pretty cool. how about some details.. what are your goals with it? building it for anything in particular or just for fun?

R@mon 06-18-2007 08:09 PM

Re: (codenamezero)

I didn't realize the aluminum bar was for structural support...
and the plenum's volume is almost 2.5 times the displacement of the engine... i think it's just fine. I couldn't think of a design i liked that would clear the hood so i'll be molding in a cowl.

you should look into cosworths plenum for the 350z

Re: Little project of mine (714phil)

I'm building it for fun. Looking for mid 500's on the stock motor. Next stage will be some eagle rods and some wiseco or je pistons and then looking for 700's. I would like to make more after that with a more serious build but it's too far away to even consider right now. Twin t3/60-1's, 60mm gates, tial bov, custom turbo and intake manifolds, 90mm tb, 75lb injectors, standalone (havent decided on one yet), trunk mounted radiator, 3" downpipes and 2.25" dumptubes coming out of the sides in front of the front tires, 24"x12"x4" vertical flow i/c cores with custom end tanks, etc.

I rather build my own parts whenever possible. It doesn't matter if they don't workout that great, i usually end up making something new within a couple of months anyways. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

wunfstmax 06-19-2007 06:55 AM

You can put down 500whp if you install some arp rod bolts. I've seen a tread on my350z about the tranny gears, they looked quite stout. It was out of a car that had the APS tt kit, I belive the only problem they were seeing was either the brass ring's teeth or they synchro's teeth had some excessive wear. I'm sure with some really good tuning the a stock 3.5 will do 500whp in a very reliable manner

great fab work I respect you alot for doing it yourself. Dont listen to some of these

Re: (P.Winkowski)

Also I think you maybe underestimating this setup 1000whp should be no problem once the bottom end is done. Hit up Carl Stevens, I think thats his name
Extreme Race cars, hes running about 200 mph on a 10.5 tire with this motor

karmannghia 06-19-2007 07:54 AM

Hope u have a pump for the oil return..Otherwise u gonna go through the turbos every other week.

ZzZCivicZzZ 06-19-2007 08:56 AM

Amazing. Simply amazing. Excellent work, I'll be checking back for more updates. Keep up the amazing work.

Oh yea, i'm sure the setup will be good enough. I meant motor-wise. I'm making the turbo setup enough so that it won't become a limiting factor until i reach the quad digits... other than a quick injector change.

Yea, i'll be running a scavenge pump for the oil return and a water pump to flow the coolant from the trunk to the engine.

I've seen low to mid 500's on a dynodynamics completely stock. I think the same numbers on a dynojet will be easily accomplished the route i'm going. I'm going for the higher rpm/lower peak torque set. Even though i won't be revving it any higher than 7k while it's stock, all of the graphs i've seen so far are all high sudden torque spikes then falls flat on it's face after like 5k rpm.

Re: Little project of mine (not so civic)

Im I the only one who recognizes the intake design is by far not the best? I dont post much on here, and dont like bashing anybodies stuff, however, if your looking for maximum power...ditch that intake design. Theres no way you can expect air to travel in, run around the "top tube", and then swirl out towards the sides in the velocity stacks.
You'd be VERY surprised at what air does when entering a motor...like the fact that air goes in and out of a motor 3-4 times before actually going into the cylingers(yes the same air, goes in, out, in, out, and then in once more). Sounds crazy I know, but its true.
With your design your going to be creating in a sense, a whirlpool right in that center "tube", which is not going to funnel air into the stacks. Other than that, fab looks great, ,and theres defenitely some money wrapped up in it! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif
