broken mount...help
i bought an LS block, and upon taking it home and putting it on the stand, i noticed that the bolt holes for the engine bracket on the drivers side are damaged...on the right two holes, the threads are worn down, and the left hole is broken from the top half towards the tensioner spring....
i know that b series are die cast aluminum, but can you weld on them? i really don't want to have to junk this motor or get my money back, i just want to make it work...
any help would be appreciated...

I did one for my buddy before. I just redrilled it and tapped it the next size up and then opened up the holes in the mount.. It was an easy fix. If you have to weld it avoid putting a lot of heat into it.. The cast welds up nice. but if you have to fill in a big hole you basically have to preheat the block to get a puddle to form, and you could cause some damage to other components, seals gaskets, ect..
nevermind....
i got my money back, my stepdad's machinist said that it would cost over 200 to fix.
so i junked the motor, those motors are dime a dozen so i'll just find another...
