testing waters and asking for feedback
I picked up an 89 LXI 2 dr, 5 sp. It looks perfect, runs great but had all kinds of suspension, etc problems. So, I completely replace with all new springs, shocks, all ball joints/control arms and put brand new tires on it. I did all my own work but prev owner had dumped a ton of money into it and wanted out from under (He just had new T-Belt, water pump, all belts done. Before that complete brake service, new exhaust and radiator.
I was planning on driving it, but inherited a car from my mother who decided to stop driving at 90 yrs old. I'm sure that's a relief to anyone driving the same streets as she did)
So the Honda has to sell. There isn't a single mechanical thing wrong with the car and i'd be willing to offer a garantee. (something like "anything goes wrong in 6 months and I'll fix or have it fixed.). I'd even be willing to take payment in two parts with say $500 on a post dated check to hold as an escrow for the buyer assurance that I would be true to my word.
So, now for the other part cause I'm certainly not selling this car for $500. Kelly blue book puts it at a dealer price of $3200. Average private sale at about $2000. Would it be out of line or impossible to get $2500 for it? What are your thoughts?
The only things that don't work are the AC (disonccted, have no idea) and the radio is crappy, but might serve to listen to a disaster broadcast in case we are are getting nuked. If that were the case, you can have the car for free, but must pick it up at ground zero of the nuke blast.
Advice appreciated.
