i admit when i do not know something, and this is one of those times. i know how an lsd works, but it is just a major BITCH to put back together, i even spoke with dave at synchrotech and even HE said it is a pain to reassemble.
as for my sig, TRANSMISSIONS are what i specialize in, not lsd's. the only reason i took this one apart was because it was sticking and it ended up being a piece of gasket material that got lodged inside the gears.

That sucks. I have an ITR LSD, but I didn't have the nerve to take it apart. Will actually have to pull my trans back apart though this weekend or next.. I mysteriously have no 3rd gear

If it's the same design as an OBX or a Quaife, it shouldn't be too terribly difficult. Hard to explain off hand without one torn down in front of me other than it just slides back together. lol I personally think open-diffs are harder to get their gears back together and in the housing.
BTW, LSDs/diffs are definitely part of a transmission system. Better get used to them if you're specializing in them. :p
