Default Just checking for LSD fit in LS

Seeing that Aquafina is out at SEMA, and I lost out on the ITR tranny FS, Mista Bone or Mfactory, I am thinking of getting an LS hydro tranny now, and swaping in a 10 bolt LSD to get what I need. Will the ITR/CTR, or Mfactory Helical LSD go in an LS case? If so, can I bolt the LS 4.26 FD on it too?
Thanks, Steve

B series cases are the same 94-01.

LS ring gear will NOT fit GSR/ITR LSD.

If you are wanting to keep the LS FD, just get a B16/LS LSD.

Thanks Mr Bone. I was not aware that Honda made a Helical diff for the B16, or are you talking aftermarket? Also, curious about what the difference is between the ITR and B16 fitment, ring bolt pattern or ID?, and is one stronger/weaker than the other?

Thanks, Steve

Why would you wanna waste the time and money on a OEM unit?

They don't last and are not as strong. ITR's on here have broken them with stock power.

Yes, there are OEM LSD's to fit your case.......with 15 bolt ring gears.

Geeze, another bolt pattern. What models came with that? anyway, I was asking about HELICAL oem diffs? (ITR/CTR type), that would fit in my tranny with the OEM 4.26 (10 bolt) gear set.
This info is not just for my own project; we have customers that know nothing about Honda transmissions, who are swapping Hondas into their Minis. I am doing this research to try and provide all the options for for them as well. The main problem being the tiny 10 and 12 inch wheels, that we want to keep on our cars, requires the tallest ratios we can get, but with a Helical type LSD. Money is a big issue for most of us, So I am looking at finding cheaper ways to do it. The Mfactory stuff is very nice, but looking for other options as well. Our frames are designed for the Hydro tranny bolt pattern and clutch operation method, so that is a constant.
So far, it is looking like the Hydro LS tranny with the highest 5th and final drive set is the best for our needs; we will still be going down the freeway at 4,000 RPM plus. So now I am researching possible helical LSDs that will fit the stock 4.26 final drive set. My personal car will probably wind up with a 400$ stock LS trans and 650$ Mfactory diff, around 1050$ total cost.
If you know of any other options, Mr Bone, or anyone else, I would appreciate your input.
Cheers

Thanks, Mista B. A lot of the Mini guys are going the D series route for the money reason. We might have to make our frames more compatible for those guys too. Maybe build one for myself just for gas mileage and weight savings.
Cheers.

The LS 4.266 FD won't fit the CTR/ITR LSD. It will fit an MFactory B16A LSD, which will fit in your LS case (B16A open diff = LS open diff). That or you can use a CTR/ITR LSD and an MFactory 4.05 FD.

Thanks Aqua. I figured that out and already ordered an LSD from Steve at Mfactory yesterday, for using with the 4.26 LS fd. Just need to find the fd. now, and put it all together. Probably have to get a whole tranny, to get the fd. I drove 40 miles last night to look at a "perfect" one. shaft wouldn't even turn; plug was loose, snap ring wasn't in the groove, took it apart right there; idler was sitting UNDER the fork, so was stuck in two gears. FD gear on the counter had teeth corners chipped off; 3-4 slider teeth ground completely flat; magnet looked like a Chia pet. I told him I wanted a more "perfecter" trans than that, and drove 40 Mi. back home. I don't remember hot-rodding being this much of a pain when I was a kid!
Glad to see you are back from SEMA.
