I have. 98 civic dx 1.6 auto non vtec I'm having trans problems it won't shift into all the gears stays in 1st when put in drive. I have replaced the trans 3 times and there is no way I bought 3 bad trans and replaced the ecu and the levels are all good. And my speedo stopped too. Help???!!!!

Have you tried shifting it manually? sounds like an electrical problem

 

You most likely will have trouble codes present that will at least point you in some direction. A failure to engage a gear when commanded will produce a trouble code.

Check fluid level, and ensure the correct fluid is being used.

As for the speedo, check the sensor and the plug, has nothing to do with shifting.
