B16 LSD installation weird sounds.
I am installing a mfactory lsd into my 2000 Civic EM1 b16 transmission.
It was straightforward and I reused the old bearings since they don't make any sound when I spun them.
I installed the two bearings, speedometer drive gears, torque the differential gear to 74 ft/lbs and put the whole thing into my case. It spins freely and sounds very nice.
I closed the case with 4 bolts on opposite sides and torque to 20 ft/lbs.
I put one axle in and it spins beautiful with very little resistance.
Here's the problem, I put my speed sensor in and torque the bolt to 9ft/lbs.
It still spins very nice but now there are sounds.
When I spin it in one direction, it sounds loud like gear meshing with each other which I think is normal since the sensor rides on the speedometer ring gear.
When I spin it the other direction, it sounds the same with the thunks very now and then.
Is this normal? Will the sound go away or less noticeable when I install it into the car and add transmission fluid?
Thanks in advance.
