Hey guys, I'm new here. I just bought an 89 Integra LS. I have no intentions of racing or performance upgrades. I bought it strictly for transportation 100 miles round trip all interstate for work. What can be done to this thing to get the RPMS to not be outrageously high at interstate speed? Running 17" wheels.

What do you think is high rpms?

 

3500-4000 also the cruise control is not working, the button on the dash lights up, but cruise does not work

 

need taller gearing in transmission

 

Can you change the ratios in an auto? I used to working with rwd, American V8's so all of this is new to me.

 

oh its an auto. yeah good luck with that .i was going to stay the 5 speed ls tranny has a cruising 5th gear.

I haven't messed with too many older integra's. but does the converter clutch work?

Is the tachometer accurate? Compare it with a timing light.

 

I haven't tried comparing with timing light. I've listened to the shifts, it shifts great to 2nd, 3rd, and then 4th. Does it have a converter lock up like the Chevy 700-r4?

 

Slow, I'm also having trouble with the cruise control. The button on the dash lights when pushed, but CC doesn't engage. Also the sunroof won't open, I checked the fuse and it is intact. Thank you for your time and advise.
