5 speed to 6 speed conversion...
looking to swap the close ratio 6 speed into my 95 ex, anyone know if they have an adapter plate or kit to do this? running the stock d16z6 motor and has stock 5 speed in it right now. only reason im thinking about it is that i was just given a rebuilt 6 speed out of the 2000 civic si, any help will be appreciated.
6-speed out of the 2000 Civic Si?
They do have D2B conversion kits available, but I believe you've got more research to do before even looking into that one.

thats what i was told it was out of, have no idea, nearly all of my honda experience is with ef and eg civics, i have done a few d to b swaps and one h22 into a crx but have never even driven a honda with a 6 speed in it. is it a decent trans? i got it because some one paid my friends shop to pull it out and have it rebuilt, then while the trans was out the car got repo'ed right from the shop. its still sitting there in fact, he just called like 3 hours ago to see if i wanted it.
Hint: 2000 Si's did not come with a 6 speed, they were all 5 speeds. the S2000 had a 6 speed but it's rear wheel drive. The other 6 speeds all came mated to a K-series or J-series (great if you want 6 speeds of reverse and 1 forward gear)
haha! well then any one need a k series 6 speed? dosent supprise me that he dosent know a k from a b, hes a chevy builder. i dont think hes ever owned any kind of honda.
i know it is a fwd 6 speed trans, only explanation i can see is that the car had a k20 swaped in. ill get down there and get some pics when i have a chance, and hey its a free trans thats just been rebuilt, who can complain about that? any one know where i need to look for id numbers on the k trans?

damn too bad my wife wont let me swap motors, when i was talking to my friend the baby was screaming in my ear, its a motor and trans that the guy was paying to have swapped in, its out of the 2004 civic si, has no intake, exhaust, or ecu, but i already found a home for it, its going to get turboed and stuffed into a 91 crx. its just the i-vtec but i think it will move that rex just fine
