1st gear

Are hard first gear pulls harmful to the transmission? For instance if from a dead stop I went up to 5000 rpms quickly in 1st would that be damaging? Just curious, thanks

It's not horrible for the trans, but when you start slamming gears, you start to wear down the synchro's and they start to grind. Then that's bad for the trans. Just make sure you have the trans full of fluid.
