Would O2 Sensor last longer/forever if always lean?
I was wondering if the only reason why O2 sensors go bad is b/c of rich conditions, that if the sensor was always exposed to stoichiometric or leaner that it basically would never fail or at least never fail for the life of a car. Has anyone seen a car with mostly highway miles get much much higher miles out of their O2 sensors before needing to replace them opposed to city miles?
