wire coming out of vtec solenoid, where does it go to?
I bought a ef w/ a b17 swap, and the wire used to attach to a tach, but the tach was taken out. Now the wire just hangs from the vtec solenoid w/ nothing to attach to. what should I do w/ it?
If it's actually going to the VTEC solenoid, then that is the wire used to activate it. The tach is typically tapped off the wire from the distributor. Your VTEC isn't kicking in is it? Check the ECU with a wiring diagram(believe it's pin A8) If that's empty, simply run the VTEC solenoid wire to that pin.

I'm not exactly clear on what you're asking...
If you're saying there is a loose tach signal wire (that someone other than honda put there) under your hood... I'd suggest following it to the dist. and removing it...
If you're asking about the selonoid wiring I think the others have answered your question.

thanks, you guys rock
Ill check the ecu plug when I get home and see if need to route the wire to it.
yeah cant feel vtec as of now.
the tach used to have wires from the distributor, vtec soleniod, fuse box, and groud.
