Default white smoke!! [vid inside]

my friends engine is blowing clouds of white smoke. its an OBD0 B18A1 with an OBD2 B18B1 head. only internal work is USDM ITR pistons. anybody know whats causing this? disregard the lumpy idle...big cam...jk its just a vacuum hose which has since been connected

also, can he use an OBD1 IAC valve on an OBD2 head?

please right click, save as. its a small DL [90kb]

And coolant most likely means head gasket. Your friend probably warped the surface when putting the pistons in.

he suspected it was the head gasket, but not due to warpage from installing pistons, but rather that he might have had a brainfart and put it on upside down. is that even possible? besides the head gasket, is there anything else it can be? hoping for something simpler.

and bump for my 2nd question

It's possible to put it on the wrong way, one of the coolant passages will be blocked and cooland will be coming out from in between the head and the block and it will also enter the combustion chainber, I have seen that on lsvtec the most.
