Default wheel weight

i can get a good deal on some 16 inch wheels and tires in great shape but i looked up the wheel weight and they weigh 20lbs which seams really heavy to me. Are these things going to slow me down a tonne?

Stock 15" steel wheels usually weigh around 17-18lbs if I remember correctly. Will heavier wheels slow you down? Yes. Will you be able to notice a couple pounds difference in rotating mass? Maybe, maybe not. If performance(read: accelleration) is your #1 concern, you probably shouldn't be looking into 16" wheels, unless they're high-end forged(read: lightweight) pieces. If you're looking for a larger wheel and lower profile tire for a better contact patch or just for looks, and you don't mind sacrificing some power to turn heavier wheels, then you probably don't have anything to worry about.

thanks for the reply. Ideally id like the have some slipstreams or heliums but i like the deal i could get. I just dont want to find a crazy difference in acceleration. if its fairly minor then i would not mind. thanks

rotating mass either size or weight all kills performance! period...
