Default What to use on a B20? Plus rod bolt question...

i've got a b20b longblock and getting a b16a gearbox... which means i'll need to track down a dizzy, alternator and starter motor...

what ones will i need or could i use? do i need a b-series alternator which is the same OBD as the motor? i guess i'll need a b20b dizzy. and will i have to get a b16a starter motor?

or are there other ones i could use?

ALSO... i want to replace the rod bolts with arp ones because they are meant to a weak link with the motor... is it a hard task to replace them? is it a matter of taking them out one at a time, replacing them and torquing them down? i hadn't done alot of block work, so any advice or link to help me out would be great!!

thanks guys!

yeah b-series alt with the same obd that your running
your dizzy depends wich head your gonna go with if your sticking with b20 head go with the b20 dizzy
your starter shouldnt matter as long as its b-series 5speed starter. i got a ls starter on my b18b with b16 tranny.

as far as your rod bolts im still looking for the same info unfortunatly i already hammered all my rod bolts out and took the caps off some people are saying i need to get them resized and other people say that it will work if i drop them right in. so im still awaiting more info.

oh, so its not some compound job where if you do this, you'll have to do this... and this... and this etc...

just get them resized and thats it?

whats involved with sizing the rods? like i said earlier, i'm new to block internal work... just want to be able to understand it for when i go to get it done...

thanks!

just take your rods and the rod bolts to the machine shop and hell take care of the rest. if your using acl bearings or something similar take the crank to and he'll size them to the crank for the perfect bearing clearances
