Default what are the units of compression??

curious on what the units are.. i know its a ratio. if i wanna tell someone. that these pistons will bump your compression by 1.5 __?? grams, kJ, torrs, compressions??
i found some stuff in search. but nothing about units. are there any?

heheheh, a ratio means the units get vanished

It doesn't matter what the units are. You could measure density in cubic inches, cubic centimeters, blah blah... (density of air compressed) / (density of atmospheric air) = compression ratio, unit independent
