What does piston overbore mean?

Default What does piston overbore mean?

what is piston overbore? someone is selling a set of ctr pistons with a .25 overbore and i need to know if they will fit a stock b16 block

stock b series = 81mm. .25 overbore = 81.25mm
so, no those slugs wont fit in stock bore b series. Take it to a machine shop

overbore is how much larger that piston is than a regular piston. no they will not fit a stock b16, the b16 cylinders must be bored .25 over as well

Boring out a block is actually very cheap. Its all the labor in tearing down the motor and rebuilding it, if you don't do it yourself. Then you have to buy a full engine gasket set. BUT, if you do get it bored, get it milled flat, too "decked".
