Default What is the difference between cnc machined and billet cut?

I know it seems like a dumb question, but i really need to know.

well when ever i read about billet its a solid peice of aluminum and the part is cut out of that but im pretty sure cnc is the same thing but maybe billet only refers to aluminum... i may be wrong

CNC is a computerized machine that cuts metal in a preloaded shape. Billet is a big chunk of forged metal.

Billet implies that the machined peice of aluminum is cut from a FORGED slug.

CNC is just a computerized machining process.
