Ok this is a 2001 GSR Block with a 99 SiR head can anyone tell me what this black box is? And if i need to run something to that open hole, i don't remember having that on my B16A2 block but i can't remember

Charcol Canister for emissions - the PCV valve goes into the hole

That is where the PCV valve goes. Go pick one up at Crappy tread for $5. There should be a line from the bottom of the intake manifold that hooks up to it.

 

You sure? I could be wrong, but I thought the canister is mounted to the firewall.

so i guess i'm gonna have to plug up one of my charcoal canisters since my other one is mounted on the firewall

 

Sorry, wrong terminology... Its the breather chamber. My apologizes. But the PCV valve (#7 in the illustration) does go into the hole.
