Default Weld or Hondabond? (Cylinderhead)

On an s2000 where a piece broke off of the head that sandwiches the oil orifice portion of the headgasket. (I believe this is just the drainage for the oil that leads to the bottom of the oil pan) The damage was caused by installation error and applying too much torque, the tab (boxed off in red) broke clean off.

I was wondering what my options were as of currently. The oil leak seems like it only seeps out from one portion in the front. The only reason I'm considering hondabonding it as opposed to repairing it is that I plan to build another motor on the side while the clock ticks vs. this one (180k miles + 10 years old).

I do have a spare cylinder head here that I could replace it with immediately, but after I saw the damaged one and compared it to another s2000 it looked like it was just a no-pressure oil-return orifice. Here's the headgasket of an F20C1/F22C1.

As a temporary fix if I can't weld the head in-car, can't I just clean off the surface of the leak and seal the perimeter of the leak with hondabond/hi-temp silicone since it's a no-pressure return?

Devcon aluminum putty or even JB Weld would be better than Hondabond at repairing a broken tab. hondabond is a gasket maker/sealer- not really for fastening things together.

i would leave the welding to a qualified, experienced pro. unless you are one of those yourself.

JB Weld ftw since its gonna be tossed soon welding is a lot of work and trouble if done carelessly

Well, if i'm going the welding route, I'd be taking it to someone who can weld aluminum well. I was just wondering as to if it'd be possible to weld with the motor in the car without warping the head/block.

If I was going with hondabond, i'd be sealing the leak only as opposed to fastening. If you'll hang on for a few hours, i'll have pictures to show what I'm working with haha.

Got it welded in-car, hope that fixes it. I'm gonna seal it with silicone anyways just to be sure it won't leak since silicone will be easy to remove if I ever decide to remove the head from the block. thanks for the suggestions!
