Default Water Temp Sensor Placement?

I'm going to install my Auto Meter water temp gauge, but wondering where I should put the sensor. I have a hose adapter that goes on the radiator hose and the temp sensor screws in.

Should I put it coming from the upper or lower hose?

upper hose where the hot coolant is coming out of the head. thats where the ecu takes readings so you want to monitor that location

Not too close to the head though. This hose adaptor will vibrate a little so you want the flexable hose to soak up some of that vibration without tearing the hose over time, cyclic vibration. Use some teflon tape around the sensor threads, I personally use some RTV on the hose adaptor to hose attach areas.

That is where I put it, half way between the radiator and head in the upper hose. No leaks and I'm getting a perfect reading from 200-210 beating the **** out of it during the day
