VAFC Where to put my VTEC???? Hmmmm...

Anyone have any basic information for setting my Apexi VAFC??
I have '00 GSR with CTR cams. I know that a dyno will be my best friend in this case and I also know that with a virtually stock car- I don't really need to be doing tuning... But I'm sure you guys have heard time after time, major car magazines statiing that VTEC comes too late in the power band.
Should I lower it? How much? And what about correction? Again, I know stock car doesn't really need it, but would leaning it out a bit on the narrow throttle help? I have advanced my ignition timing and removed the lower portions of the airbox (except bottom half of box) but besides the CTR cams its stock...
P.S. If anyone wants these cams for trade or sale let me know- They are just not aggressive enough!

put vtec at 4800, take it for a test drive if it feels like there is no bogging down leave it, if it does bog then raise it a 100 till it feels like the bog is gone.
You know that you will not get full potential out of the cams with out IHE.
Good luck

Why did you get cams BEFORE I/H/E?
After those mods, try a mild port job to open things up...then let us know if it's not "aggressive" enough for ya!

leaning out your fuel would give you more power, but too much leaning could be detrimental to your motor. U can fool around with your vtec points, but you won't really know for sure what power you are making where, and if it's even helping, without taking it to a dyno.
Get some more mods, and take your car to the dyno

If you have acces to a dyno then you could find the perfect VTEC crossover. Set the VTEC point really low then do a dyno run. Set the VTEC point really high then do another dyno run. plot the two runs on the same sheet and where the hp or tq curves (i'm don't remember which one) cross, thats where you set your VTEC point at.

I actually had I/H/E but decided to remove the stuff to go for forced induction (trying to save money for Turbo) these cams will probably have to go too for compression reasons... But I figure it will be a few months of Having basically just cams and my VAFC. I dont think most people see any HP gains with I/H/E anyway- I think you just get a little throttle response. I think I felt more of a difference with the "freebie upgrades" you can do to your car. Thanks for the input though.
correct me if i am wrong, but i dont think cams have that much to do wtih compression. i was thinking you sell the cams because of overlap (not good for turbo) but i dont know, im not an FI type of person. well, if you get a turbo, your'e gonna want an exhaust system becuase there will be too much restriction and you'll feel more power with the and exhaust on a turbo motor than an N/A motor. you could get custom cams or turbo cams though.
