using JDM B16 ECU w/ a mini-me
im thinking of using a JDM B16 ECU and rewire it for my car. would it have the correct VTEC fuel maps like the P28 ECU from a 92-95 VTEC Civic?
also, how much should a used JDM B16 ECU cost?

Well, if you got it chipped properly and had the fuel maps changed and the rev limit lowered it sounds like a good plan. Otherwise get an 88-89 Teg ECU and an MSD RPM switch setup. The fuel maps stock are too rich, but someone who knows hoe to program well can chip it to the specs of a near stock D16Z6.
my question was about stock UN-chipped ECUs. so if u had it chipped and all that, then i can make it do whatever i want.
but why do u say i should use an integra ECU and not the one from a stock D16Z6 civic? P28 is the one from 92-95 Si, is that the same ECU for the integra?

that's a good idea to go with a JDM B16A ECU (PR3 or PWO) on your setup.
A used PR3 ECU usually goes for about $250-325 used.
Leaving a PR3 in its stock form should be fine on your engine...but...it's going to look for a Knock sensor which a D16Z6 does NOT have. So i suggest you get the ECU reprogrammed with a PR3 program that has a disabled knock sensor. I actually have one of these programs (which is a mugen variant), and I can reprogram it as well. The program also has a disable Vtec pressure switch and 2nd 02 sensor -- so all you need to wire up is the Vtec solenoid, that's it.
The fuel and timing maps will be bumped up somewhat but should work with your CRX and D16Z engine just fine...
PS: I dont have any PR3's for sale. but if you get one, I provide the ECU reprogramming services.

whould the absense of a knock sensor just make the ECU think that the engine is not knocking?
