which ignition map would be best to start with for my setup? the b16 or the gsr?
b18b block
b16 head
gsr cams
i/h/e
Also would it be best take out some timing when vtec hits and slowly raise it back up afterwards? or just have a smooth transition throughout the ignition map? thanks

gsr, but use a p30 if u can so you can datalog, i suggest Crome over uberdata more things you can mess with and its alot neater put together like.. besides nothing beats crome for me
I'd suggest tuning your low cam first, disable vtec and get your AFR around 12.9 to 13.1 and try to get your fuel good first, after that engage vtec low low like 3000 and work from there, decide where your drop point is on your low cam and set vtec 500 rpms before that if your low cam stops making power at around say 5400 engage it at 5100, vtec will show itself where to be set there's really no set mark, as for timing igition, dont play with that too much in vtec, low cam u should but dont adjust it to much, adjust it little by little, when you hear a "Tink" kind of sound back the igition off just a few marks and your set as for as your igition is concerned, as for your vtec i'd wouldn't advance it too much but alittle wouldn't hurt
